“Why you take picture all day? Back and forth, back and forth! taking picture!” Those were the words from a farmer’s market vendor after watching me make my way through the crowd of shoppers for most of the day Saturday. I am watching people, and at the same time being watched. It’s what we do isn’t it? We watch other people. We look at other people when we meet for the first time, we look at people when we are in the car, we look at people when we get on a subway. We form our first opinions about someone just by the way they look. My pictures capture one moment in their lives, the opinion of that person is whatever comes into your mind. I’m only capturing moments.
The image of the lady with her hand raised was taken in Chinatown, all the rest appearing here were taken at the Haymarket Farmer’s Market. As always you can find more images on my Flickr page: http://www.flickr.com/photos/harringtonphotography/
